A fire extinguisher designed for quick and easy use, specifically for lithium Batteries.
This high-quality Lith-Ex fire extinguisher, with a capacity of 400 ml, is designed to fight fires involving lithium batteries. They are ideally suited for enclosed spaces such as homes, commercial buildings, vehicles, storage areas, remote-controlled or recreational applications, and specialized processes, where fires must be suppressed as soon as they occur before they develop into a fully established fire. It has a range of approximately 2 meters and a discharge time of approximately 35 seconds.
A revolutionary process
The Lith-Ex fire extinguisher is manufactured in Great Britain, which ensures complete control over the quality of the final product. It uses an environmentally friendly extinguishing agent called AVD (Aqueous Vermiculite Dispersion), which is made from natural vermiculite and propelled by nitrogen. Vermiculite is the name given to a group of hydrated laminar minerals that are silicates of aluminum, iron, and magnesium. Raw vermiculite consists of thin, flat flakes containing microscopic layers of water.
Currently, there is no BS-EN or UL test protocol or standard for extinguishing lithium batteries. Lith-Ex aerosol samples have been successfully tested by a third party according to the protocol designed by lithium battery specialist Zentrum für Sonnenenergie- und Wasserstoff-Forschung in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, up to a Batterij capacity of 60 Wh. The Lith-Ex extinguisher was tested using this method and successfully extinguished three consecutive fires. Similarly, Lith-Ex aerosol samples have successfully passed the test for an electrical fire up to 35,000 V, conducted by Apragaz, Belgium, in accordance with BS EN 3-7: 2008.
